Dell B2360dn is a mono laser printer with a maximum speed of 38 pages per minute (ppm). It is intended for small and medium businesses, so its standard features include automatic duplex printing (two-sided), and gigabit cable Ethernet port. There is also a maximum print resolution of 1,200 dots-per-inch (dpi), although the 600dpi standard is good for most jobs. Dell has a maximum print cycle of 80,000 pages per month, while the imaging drum is rated at 60,000 pages, so endurance must be high and maintenance is relatively low.

The 250-page main paper tray of this printer feels solid, and there is a well-designed 50-page multipurpose tray on it. Adjust the tray for A4 paper and stand a little pride on the back, but keep the design closed to avoid incoming dust. The standard 150-foot-size paper output tray is a bit shallow, but a wide paper outlet helps keep the page well printed. At the top there is a control panel with a two-lane backlit screen - it's basic, but enough. The only important omission is the USB port for direct printing.

B2360dn sends its first text page in just 8 seconds and prints 25 pages in 45 seconds (33.3ppm). It's generally just as fast as printing a graphic, but pauses before each of the four PowerPoint slides means only managed 21.2ppm in our 24-page test. Allowed to rest for an hour, it produces the first page of text in just nine seconds.
